Sweet Potato Fries

This recipe can be repeated with pretty much any root vegetable along with brussels sprouts. Baked veggies are one of the easiest ways to incorporate more vegetables into your diet if you don't consume enough (most of us do not!). If you don't like most types of vegetables it's probably because you are not making them right :)

You'll Need

  • 1 sweet potato

  • salt, paprika & pepper to taste

  • ~1/8 cup of oil

  • optional* chipotle spice

As you can already see this recipe is very simple. Preheat the oven to 380°F. Start out by washing and peeling the potato. I always choose one with a fairly straight shape for easier peeling. 


Cut the potato into thin sticks that are all close in size. You want them all to take roughly the same amount of time to cook.


Pour the oil, spices (as well as any other spices you may want to add) and potato sticks on a large pan, and mix well with your hands. Spread the sticks out so that they are not overlapping and put in the oven.


Bake for ~30-40 min until fragrant, browned & shrunken. You will want to flip them halfway through cooking. No matter how you cut them they wont all finish at the same time. Take them out a few at a time as they finish and place in-between sheets of paper towel to soak up any residual oil. 

Thats it! Enjoy warm with chipotle mayo :)



Combine a couple TBSP's veganasie/mayo with a squeeze of fresh lemon & chipotle spice. Mix well
